Creative Engineering: Save the Trees
Our challenge in this project was to find a world problem and research it and find a solution. The problem my group found was the clear-cutting of forests. That thought wasn't our first, but it was one of twenty, but in the end, we decided on this one instead. Our first idea to present this was making a slideshow then our other idea was making a moving commercial to stop them from using paper. We decided to make a moving commercial because we thought it would be easier to move the public to stop using paper if they knew the side effects of using paper. Some outcomes of using too much paper are the increase of global warming and extinction of animals. The group I was put in was with Logan Gleeson, Jonathan Stickle, and Max Vonblakenburg. We all worked really well together, but we kinda procrastinated a few times.
Research Process
We researched this problem over a week or two. We found out many interesting and intrguing facts. We started our research on this problem by looking up the most damaged areas in the world due to the clear cutting of forest. Then we researched how many and what type of animals die and get endangered due to it. After we looked up the causes of clear cutting ,and what the wood is used for after it is cut.
Creative Engineering Design Cycle
This cycle was referred to quite often when we were researching the problem and finding a solution.
Reflection
This project allowed me to learn new things and exposed me to different elements I would never bother to learn for my self. I thought this project was pretty cool because we were able to utilize all our ideas turn them into our final product which was the video. When we were making this video we kinda procastinated a lot which took away from our working experience. I think if we didn't procastinate we would of made a better product. Another thing I think we could of done is have everyone work on the video instead of 3 when we could've had more input. Some things I think I could of done better are remembering my lines a little faster and not mess up as much. Other wise this was a pretty good project and I think we worked well together except for some moments when one person would get mad over something we did wrong.
